EP is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Project Scientist with broad experience in stormwater, environmental, solid waste, and new source water supply projects in Massachusetts. The Project Scientist will be based out of our Quincy or Woburn, MA offices and should have experience working on multiple project assignments with diverse clients. The successful candidate will also possess the ability to think critically and work independently or with a team, in an effective and efficient manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Duties include office and field site work. Projects range from public water supply development, MS4 stormwater management and hazardous waste and landfill monitoring; including hydrogeological and contaminant investigations and report preparation.

  • Assists the Project Manager and/or other project staff in complying with the project scope of work, schedule, and budget through frequent communication on work progress.
  • Reviews notes and results from field investigations (i.e., drilling, oversight, sampling of various media (soil, groundwater, surface water, stormwater)
  • Reviews data and reports prepared by junior staff
  • Reviews/edits maps with ArcMap / GIS products
  • Performs a mix of field and office activities.
  • Interacts with clients as level of experience and project exposure progresses

Requirements

Education and Experience: B.S. or M.S. Degree in Geology or Environmental Science with 2 or more years of experience

Technical Skills: MS Office Environment, GIS

Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrated ability to work effectively with clients, staff, and sub-consultants through effective leadership. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability and desire to mentor junior staff
